Meet Ken and Yvonne
A Local Family Team
We are Ken and Yvonne Gardner. Since 2016, we have owned and personally managed Marpole Dog Walking & Boarding Service.

Dogs have been part of both our lives since childhood. Our own family dogs have included Chato, a Lhasa Apso, and Shasta, a Lab/Golden Retriever.
This is our home, not a kennel. We aim to give each dog the patience, attention, and affection we would want for our own, with familiar routines agreed around their needs.
Why Small-Scale Matters
Calm Atmosphere
Boarding and daycare are limited to five dogs total across both services combined in a kennel-free home. We pay attention to stress signals, fatigue, leash comfort, and changes in normal behaviour.
Familiar Routines
Walks, meals, rest, and handling are discussed around your dog. Familiar routines and fewer transitions can help suitable dogs feel more comfortable.
Zero Staff Rotation
Care comes directly from Ken and Yvonne, not a rotating employee roster. You know who is caring for your dog and handling the agreed access arrangements.

Our experience includes puppies, seniors, anxious rescues, and dogs with different sizes and temperaments. We talk through each dog’s needs to make sure our home and routine are a comfortable match.

Please share temperament, health, and handling notes. We would rather agree a thoughtful fit than force a dog into an unsuitable setting.

We regularly share photos and videos on Facebook and discuss practical updates about care.
Our Neighbourhood: Marpole, Vancouver
Our home base is in a residential part of South Vancouver near parks and green spaces. We serve Marpole and nearby neighbourhoods, including Oakridge, Kerrisdale, and Dunbar when schedule and fit allow.
Walking coverage, boarding and YVR transport arrangements are confirmed individually.
Marpole can be convenient for YVR travel. Allow for traffic, terminal access, and the agreed dog handoff rather than assuming a fixed travel time.
