Wedding Dog Attendant in Vancouver

Part of your wedding. Cared for through it all.

Have your dog beside you for the moments that matter, with someone dedicated to their care. Our wedding dog attendant and chaperone service helps with preparation, local transport, ceremony and photo handling, and a comfortable return afterwards. Optional home boarding lets you keep celebrating while your dog rests.

Based in Marpole, we consider weddings in Vancouver and nearby Richmond, subject to the route, schedule and your dog’s needs.

Two ways to include your dog

Both packages are for one dog with one dedicated attendant. Prices are in Canadian dollars. An enquiry does not reserve a date.

Wedding Portraits

$445 + GST
($467.25 including GST)

For couples who want their dog in first-look or wedding portraits.

Up to one continuous hour at one venue, including waiting, photo handling and quiet breaks. Your included preparation walk and agreed pickup and return transport are outside this hour.

Ceremony & Portraits

$595 + GST
($624.75 including GST)

For couples who want their dog involved in the ceremony and wedding portraits.

Up to three continuous hours at one venue, including waiting, photo handling and quiet breaks. We coordinate your dog’s ceremony involvement, including aisle participation only if your dog is comfortable and the handling arrangements are agreed in advance. Your included preparation walk and agreed pickup and return transport are outside these three hours.

Included in both packages

  • A planning call and one 30-minute preparation walk in Marpole before the wedding. We confirm who will attend the walk and wedding before booking. The preparation walk is part of your package and helps us assess your dog’s comfort before the day. It is not a training session.
  • A short written itinerary covering pickup, your dog’s appearances, a quiet waiting place and the return handoff.
  • Coordination with your planner or photographer around your priority dog photographs.
  • Dedicated handling, water, toilet breaks, owner-approved treats, a paw wipe and help with a simple, comfortable accessory you supply.
  • A return update for you or your chosen contact once your dog is safely handed over or settled into booked care.

How timing and transport work

Venue time starts on arrival and ends on departure. Waiting and breaks at the venue count toward your venue time. Included transport covers only the pickup and return route agreed in your quote.

Your written quote sets out the preparation arrangements, pickup and return times, included route and parking, total including GST, and any additional charges. Extra stops, rehearsals, longer journeys or extended care are quoted separately. Any extension needs agreement and availability; we plan travel buffers into the itinerary.

Add wedding-night boarding

$70 + GST per night ($73.50 including GST), subject to suitability and availability. Holiday and late-pickup charges may apply.

After the wedding, your dog can return to our home for kennel-free care with Ken and Yvonne. Boarding and daycare share a maximum of three dogs in total, so ask about overnight space with your wedding enquiry. Your attendant is dedicated during the wedding. Overnight, your dog may share our home with compatible dogs.

Final-day boarding pickup after 2 pm adds $35 + GST ($36.75 including GST). December 20 to January 4 adds $10 + GST per night ($10.50 including GST). Your quote confirms arrival, collection, any additional daytime care and any next-day transport. Next-day delivery is not automatically included.

A day planned around your dog

Some dogs enjoy a ceremony; others are more comfortable joining a short photo session. We discuss transport, handling, crowds, health needs and settling during preparation, then agree a suitable role and an early-departure plan. We do not promise an off-lead aisle walk, particular behaviour or perfect photographs.

Please confirm that your venue permits your dog in each planned area. Together we identify a quiet waiting place and a designated contact who can make decisions while you celebrate. If your dog is distressed, we follow the agreed plan to give them space or leave early. Training and grooming are not included.

Preparing your dog for the wedding

A little preparation can help your dog feel comfortable on the day.

  • Plan any grooming. Use a groomer your dog already knows, or discuss their needs before booking somewhere new. Ask when to schedule the appointment around your wedding. A local option is barking babies grooming in Yaletown, which currently accepts dogs up to 35 lb.
  • Keep accessories simple and comfortable. Try any collar, bow tie or outfit at home beforehand; skip it if your dog is uncomfortable. Browse Puccissimé’s bow ties or the barking babies boutique for ideas. Check measurements, availability and delivery times before ordering.
  • Tell us about your plans. Tell us what accessory you plan to supply, whether you need help putting it on, and about any requested grooming stop. Extra stops need prior agreement and a separate quote.

These are independent businesses to explore, not partners of Marpole Dog Walking. Book and pay them directly; grooming services and accessory purchases are not included in our wedding packages.

From enquiry to wedding day

  1. Tell us your plans. Send your date, venue, dog details, preferred package, pickup and return areas, and whether you need boarding.
  2. Agree on the arrangements. We check fit and availability, confirm preparation and attendance, and provide a written quote with booking, payment, cancellation and rescheduling terms.
  3. Finalize your dog’s itinerary. Once your booking is confirmed, we coordinate the details with your nominated contact and photographer or planner.

Questions couples ask

Can my dog stay for the reception?

The Ceremony & Portraits package can cover suitable early reception moments within its continuous three-hour venue window. Longer attendance needs a separate quote and must suit your dog.

Can I book for two dogs?

These packages cover one dog. Tell us about both dogs before booking so we can assess handling needs and whether we can help. Any additional staffing and price are confirmed in a separate quote.

What if my dog is happier away from the wedding?

We can discuss photos-only participation or separate daycare or boarding, subject to suitability and availability.
